Associate Professor Yuma Yamada of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Hokkaido University was declared as the recipient of the American Pharmacists Association’s 2022 Ebert Prize—the oldest existing pharmacy award in the US—on December 8, 2021.

“When I look at the list of Ebert Prize winners, I see great researchers whom I respect, and their winning papers are very outstanding. It is a great honor and a great surprise to me that I have been selected to receive the 2022 Ebert Prize for my paper,” said Associate Professor Yamada. “I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Professor Hideyoshi Harashima of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Hokkaido University, our laboratory members, and many collaborators for giving me the best opportunity to conduct research. I would also like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to the many people who have believed in the potential of our research and have supported us. I will continue my research activities vigorously with the ultimate goal of developing mitochondria-targeted nanomedicine.”
The Ebert Prize ceremony will be held during the 2022 APhA Annual Meeting and Exposition in San Antonio, Texas, USA, on March 18–21, 2022.
