The last-minute announcement by the Ontario government to return to a modified Step Two of the reopening plan has left many parents and business owners baffled by the sudden decision and frustrated by the mixed messages amid the Omicron-fuelled fourth wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
Last week, the chief medical officer of health, Dr. Kieran Moore, said he saw no reason to make changes to the student’s planned return to classes, until Premier Doug Ford’s announcement on Monday that revealed the province would move to online learning until at least Jan. 17.
