The European Parliament has overwhelmingly accepted Ukraine’s application to join the European Union, as the country is invaded by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
U.S. intelligence believes Russia has sent about 80 per cent of the troops it had amassed at the border into Ukraine with more than 400 missiles having been fired at Ukrainian targets.
The U.S. also says the offensive on Kyiv has stalled and there is evidence of Russian units surrendering without a fight and running out of food and fuel.
Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly also said Tuesday that Canada would petition the International Criminal Court to investigate alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Russian military.
