BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) — Brunei recorded 2,268.4 million Brunei dollars (1,675.7 million U.S. dollars) of total trade for October 2021, increasing 54.3 percent year-on-year, data from the Ministry of Finance and Economy showed on Tuesday.
Brunei’s exports increased by 159.8 percent year-on-year to 1,397.5 million Brunei dollars (1,033 million dollars) mainly due to an increase in mineral fuel exports.
Mineral fuels recorded 79.0 percent, the highest contribution of total exports, with a value of 1,103.7 million Brunei dollars (816.0 million dollars).
Imports decreased by 6.6 percent year-on-year to 870.9 million Brunei dollars (643.8 million dollars) for October 2021.
The highest share of exports in October went to China (27.4 percent), followed by Australia (24.1 percent) and Singapore (21.0 percent).
The highest share of imports in October was from Australia (17.5 percent), followed by Japan (15.8 percent) and Russia (13.4 percent).
