금일 확진자 5,419명; 방탄소년단 RM•진도 코로나19 확진…슈가 이어 3명째
We start with the latest on the coronavirus situation in South Korea.
On Sunday, the country reported 5-thousand-419 new cases of which 1-thousand-81 were considered severe.
Cases typically come down over the weekend due to less testing, though, especially with Christmas and the extremely cold weather.
The new cases include two more members of BTS — the global K-pop stars — its leader RM and his bandmate Jin.
The group had returned from a concert tour in the U.S. and were in isolation when they tested positive near the end of their 10-day quarantine period.
Another member, Suga, tested positive last week, and all three had been fully vaccinated.
